An exclusive supercar that has never been seen before in this form: the Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP is celebrating its world premiere. The pick-ups from the year of manufacture 2020 are available in an exclusive and limited edition “First Edition”. Based on the Mercedes G 63 AMG model, our engineers, technicians and designers are developing a high-performance pick-up with a remarkable off-road capacity, which they obtained with the help of a newly designed special suspension with portal axles.

This results in a ground clearance of 49 centimeters (19.2 inches).

The power source is the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, in the BRABUS 800 PowerXtra + specification, with an output of 588 kW / 800 HP (789 HP) and a torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft). With it, the BRABUS 800 Adventure XLP sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph) due to the higher center of gravity and 22-inch all-terrain tires.

The presentation car has a special matte ROCKET silver paint and an interior in fine BRABUS burnt oak leather.

DESIGN AND EXTERIOR. THE BIGGER THE BETTER.

For example, in order to be able to fit a generously-sized pickup platform behind the unchanged spacious cabin of the G-Class, the wheelbase was extended by 50 centimeters (20 inches) to begin with. BRABUS engineers used a state-of-the-art design and engineering software to perform the necessary calculations in this regard. They developed a special module for the off-roader’s ladder-type steel frame to these specifications, which fully retains torsional stiffness and replaces the rear suspension attachment points. The overall length is 5.31 meters (17.4 feet), which is 68.9 centimeters (27.1 inches) longer than a standard G 63 without the spare wheel at the back.

In addition, the vehicle is equipped with the optionally available luggage rack on the cabin roof and the bare carbon wind deflector with four auxiliary LED lights mounted in front of it. The matte black double bar at the rear of the Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP cabin not only plays a part in the exciting pickup look of this supercar, but can also be used to securely tie down items in the pickup bed.

Carbon is undeniably used for the production of a multitude of other body components. These include, among others, the top-mounted Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP hood accessory with two strong protrusions, as well as the wing flares, which were adapted from the BRABUS WIDESTAR widebody version for the current Mercedes G-Class models and equipped in addition with bare carbon wheel arches.

These make the supercar wider by 11.6 centimeters (4.6 inches) than the production car. The friction strips, also made of bare carbon, add further sporty touches. In addition to the tailgate, which reveals the origin of this supercar on a bare carbon panel with embedded BRABUS logo, the WIDESTAR panel with stylized protection plate characterizes the appearance of the pick-up at the rear. The handles of all the doors and the tailgate are new and are inlaid with the BRABUS logo.

The running stairs, longer to match the extended wheelbase of the Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP model, facilitate entry and exit. The epaulettes integrate LED lights to ensure a safe step even at night. When you pull a door handle or when you activate the central locking system via Keyless Go, approaching the vehicle, the entry lights and the BRABUS logos behind the front flares light up.

Due to the high entrance height, BRABUS also offers special electrically operated step bars, which facilitate safe entry and exit from the pick-up. In addition to the tailgate, which reveals the origin of this supercar on a bare carbon panel with embedded BRABUS logo, the WIDESTAR panel with stylized protection plate characterizes the appearance of the pick-up at the rear. One of the most powerful engines in the world in an off-roader joins the unusual body of the vehicle. To this end, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine of the current G 63 AMG has been thoroughly revised by BRABUS engineers. The BRABUS 800 PowerXtra+ performance upgrade includes extensive changes to the engine’s peripherals: The two stock turbochargers are replaced by two reconfigured BRABUS high-performance turbochargers, which, in addition to a larger compressor unit, also have a modified core assembly with bearings reinforced axials. They produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.6 bar.

To give the eight-cylinder a thunderous exhaust note, we developed the BRABUS Boost Xtra sound kit for the bypass valve. With its help, the turbocharged engine produces a clearly audible exhaust noise when the driver lifts the accelerator. Of course, the BRABUS high-performance exhaust system also plays a role in the acoustic fascination. Thanks to the actively controlled exhaust flap, it offers integrated sound management, which can change the exhaust note from a subtle “Coming Home” mode to a pronounced sporty V8 sound.

The two stainless steel exhaust pipes that protrude in front of the rear wheels, on either side, offer the choice of a standard or black chrome finish and also add special visual accents.

The larger turbines are complemented for this engine conversion with new injection mapping, boost pressure control and ignition. They are inserted into the electronic engine control unit through the PowerXtra module. As the name of the Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP type indicates, the maximum power of the biturbo engine jumps to 588 kW / 800 HP (789 HP) at 6,600 rpm. Even more important to the pickup’s superior power delivery is the peak torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) at a low rev of 3,600 rpm.

This engine turns the Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP into one of the most powerful pickups in the world. From rest, the platform pickup supercar sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph) thanks to the all-terrain tires. Optionally, the nine-speed automatic transmission can also be changed manually using the ergonomic BRABUS RACE aluminum paddles on the steering wheel. The revised powertrain also includes a special driveshaft, required due to the extended wheelbase.

WHEELS AND CHASSIS. ABOVE AND BEYOND.

To give it a spectacular off-road appearance and outstanding off-road capabilities thanks to the very high ground clearance and maximum articulation of both axles, our engineers and technicians equipped the vehicle with a newly developed suspension with portal axles, which was specially developed for this pickup truck. To match this design, a customized version of the innovative BRABUS Ride Control suspension with BRABUS Ride Control coilovers was developed.

Its damping rates have been specially adapted to the increased ground clearance resulting from the portal axles. The driver can control the BRABUS suspension of the Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP from the cockpit using the standard DYNAMIC SELECT suspension adjustment switch on the current Mercedes G-Class. It allows the choice between different settings for suspension, powertrain, steering and assistance systems. In addition, the titanium-coated aluminum BRABUS suspension is adjustable in height.

The suspension redesign also includes the switch to the new BRABUS Monoblock HD wheels, which have been designed with an eight-spoke design, specifically for the portal axles. In size 9.5Jx22, these alloys designed for maximum robustness and equipped with 325/55 R 22 PIRELLI Scorpion ATR off-road tires perfectly fill the space under the bare carbon wings.

INTERIOR. INDIVIDUAL HANDMADE MASTERPIECES.

Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP offers luxury and individuality in the best possible way inside. Each vehicle can be upgraded in the company’s upholstery workshop with a BRABUS interior made of fine leather, adapted in every detail to the personal preferences of the vehicle owner. The presentation car is part of the “First Edition” limited edition. These pick-ups are equipped with the finest leather, whose burnt oak color creates a contrast with the optional matte ROCKET silver paint.

The central sections of the seats have quilting in the shape of a shell and perforations applied with precise precision. Some areas, such as the headrest, have been upholstered in black Alcantara. For the other Mercedes G BRABUS 800 ADVENTURE XLP pick-ups, customers can have every detail of the interior upholstered in almost any desired color. In addition, they can choose from a wide variety of upholstery layouts.

Custom aluminum components such as the pedals, door lock pins and ergonomic paddle shifters on the steering wheel add distinctly sporty touches to the cabin.
